EVENT BEGINS AT 10:00am
Glenville residents! Share your story and tell the story of our neighborhood through writing and art!
See Our Light is an art installation project that will promote history, arts and culture in the Glenville community through the art of storytelling, and extend artistic expression with digital fabrication and making technologies. In partnership Literary Cleveland and Ingenuity Cleveland, Fab House, a neighborhood based technology and makerspace, will collaborate with residents to capture their stories through oral and composition forms, and digitally fabricate physical representations for a community art installation and exhibition.
Join us at the Cleveland Public Library Langston Hughes Branch on Saturday, June 11 from 10am-12pm for a free writing, storytelling, and art-making workshop presented by Fab House, Literary Cleveland, and Ingenuity Cleveland.
Glenville writers Rhonda Crowder, Charlotte Morgan, and Vince Robinson will lead discussions and writing exercises to inspire you to tell your story and the story of your neighborhood.
Towards the end of the session, artists from Ingenuity Cleveland will demonstrate digital fabrication and making technologies to help turn your story into a piece of art.
Snacks will be provided* and all participants will have the opportunity to help create a collaborative piece of art that will be displayed in the Glenville and Langston Hughes library branches.
